Drawing for Relaxation: Lines and Patterns

Drawing for Relaxation is a series of short video tutorials. Take some time out of your day to experience the calm you can achieve by learning a new drawing technique or process. In this session we are using zentangles to help us create a drawing.

What is a Zentangle?

The Zentangle method of drawing is a relaxing and fun way to create images by drawing structured patterns – these patterns are called tangles. Tangles are created with a combination of dots, lines, curves and other shapes. Zentangle art is abstract and unplanned so you can focus on drawing rather than the end result. You don't need to know what a tangle is going to look like to draw it, just follow the method and the results may surprise you.

Watch Andrew’s video below to guide you, or download the activity sheet to get you started.

Suitable for young people and adults.

Whilst this is session is FREE to view, if you are able, please Give What You Think to help sustain the future of Derby Museums. All your generous donations will be doubled by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
