Weekend Make: Time Capsule

In our weekend makes for children, we explore different arts and crafts processes inspired by our collections. See what you can make.

In this session, we will decorate and furnish boxes with objects that hold a special significance for you, or conjure up important memories. This process of choosing, organising and looking after your items is an example of ‘curation’, something that Derby Museums does with its collections all the time.

Scroll down to see the materials you will need. You can also download an activity sheet that accompanies the make here.

Suitable for children aged 5 years + with their grown-ups.

This online session is free of charge, however, if you are able to consider making a donation, this will help us to continue to conserve our heritage and re-open our doors for future generations. All of your generous donations will be matched pound for pound by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Donate here.
